NBC News/Philadelphia Debate, October 30, 2007, moderated by Brian Williams, Tim Russert - Thank God in heaven that the Democratic Party at long last dropped cranky, crazy Mike Gravel from its debates.
ABC News/Iowa Debate, August 19, 2007, moderated by George Stephanopoulos - Early on, Gravel's provocateur pose may have proven entertaining. Now, he only wastes valuable time meant for viable candidates. And honestly, it's kind of sad to watch to a once-great legislator and Democratic hero rambling, obstructing and ruining his legacy.
CNN-YouTube Debate, July 23, 2007, moderated by CNN's Anderson Cooper - Mike Gravel is having a ball embarrassing the other candidates and pushing U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. I do appreciate the reluctant truths his presence forces from the other candidates. But enough is enough.
PBS-Howard University debate, June 28, 2007, moderated by Tavis Smiley - Mike Gravel came off as a nutcase, even more than in previous debates. His last remark, that he distrusts most candidates standing on the stage, drew gasps and a terrible silence from the audience.
DNC Winter Kick-Off Meeting, February 1-3, 2007 - Mike Gravel, a 2-term U.S. Senator from Alaska during the Vietnam War era and Democratic thorn-in-the-side to President Nixon, gave a barn-burner of a speech roundly condemning the Iraq War and every Democrat who voted for it in 2002. No word on what energetic 76-year-old Mr. Gravel has been doing since he left the Senate in 1981, or what qualifies him to be president now.
