Scooter Libby & Walter Reed: Democracy Trumps Depravity
* The continued bloody downward-spiral of the civil war in Iraq;* The 4 felony convictions this morning of Vice President Cheney's righthand man and close friend;
* The unsanitary, disgusting hospital conditions for our wounded soldiers.
* The obscenely large Defense Department budget proposed by President Bush for 2008.
Frankly, the depravity boggles my mind. Like a person in shock after the death of a loved one, I can't quite comprehend that elected American leaders could betray us, at least to such extremes. Richard Nixon would blanch at the corruption of this White House.
Yes, humans are imperfect, but this level of immorality transcends normal behavior.
But the good news is obvious. A free press uncovered the scandal of medical care for U.S. soldiers, and despite censorship pressures by the White House, the press keeps reporting the truth of the Iraq War.
The Libby jury thoroughly parsed the evidence, soberly reviewed each charge, and convicted Vice President Cheney's Chief of Staff.
While the elections that put the Bush administration in the White House weren't fair, American democracy worked.

As someone who served a tour of duty in Afganistan and a tour and a half in Iraq (sent home after my third purple heart), I can say the media is not printing the truth of what is going on overseas.
By the way, why are so many people against the war as it does not affect them like myself and my comrades? Just curious. I’m just a little tired of people who have not been over there telling me (who has!) what is “really going on” in Iraq.
As soon as I heal up enough, I am volunteering to go back. The rest of you good citizens can go back to shopping, clubing, or whatever it is you do.
The above poster, David, is a true American patriot and hero. Because of his sacrifices, the idiot liberals in America can mask their contempt for him while promoting “free speech” in endorsing retreat and failure in Iraq. American liberal scumbags make the lying claim of “caring about the troops” while their true intentions lie in an utter hatred of President Bush and a coordinated attempt to undermine everything he does.
Thank you, David, for everything you and your brothers in arms do to protect the United States. There are still Americans that care about you, your family, and your struggle to protect freedom and democracy in the world.
Eventually, conservatives in America will be forced to confront (and jail/kill) the liberals (i.e. neo-communists) that live in America. McCarthy was right…America is now corrupted with communist anarchists that should have been censured and/or disposed of in McCarthy’s 1950s.
Fortunately…the job will be done…since we have all the guns!!!
