Numerous odd and fascinating political stories are making the media rounds this morning. Thought you might enjoy reading tidbits from a few of the funnier scary-but-true tales....

From NewsAdvance: Sen John McCain Makes Nice with Rev. Jerry Falwell -- "U.S. Sen. John McCain - a likely 2008 presidential candidate who once labeled the Rev. Jerry Falwell an “agent of intolerance” - will be Liberty University’s graduation speaker on May 13.

'I was in Washington with him about three months ago,' Falwell said. “We dealt with every difference we have. There are no deal breakers now. But I told him, 'You have a lot of fence mending to do.'

....While running against then- Gov. George W. Bush in the South Carolina and Virginia primaries in 2000, McCain denounced Falwell and Virginia Beach televangelist Pat Robertson in what was seen as a move to lure more moderate voters to his campaign."

This begs the obvious question: What won't McCain do or compromise in his desperate bid to be President?

From Raw Story : The White House Staff Turns on Each Other -- "Karl Rove, Deputy White House Chief of Staff and special adviser to President George W. Bush, has recently been providing information to special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald in the ongoing CIA leak investigation, sources close to the investigation say.

According to several Pentagon sources close to Rove and others familiar with the inquiry, Bush's senior adviser tipped off Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald to information that led to the recent 'discovery' of 250 pages of missing email from the office of Vice President Dick Cheney."

Which again proves that old adage: There is no honor among proverbial thieves and thugs.

Lest you think I only poke fun at conservatives, from blog ColdHeartedTruth, and various other internet sources: Senn Penn Has Ann Coulter Torture Doll -- "Hollywood activist Sean Penn has a plastic doll of conservative US columnist Ann Coulter that he likes to abuse when angry..... In an interview with The New Yorker magazine, Penn reveals, 'We violate her. There are cigarette burns in some funny places. She's a pure snake-oil salesman. She doesn't believe a word she says.' "

Uhhh....OK, let me get this straight. This is a bad thing? Does this mean I should trash my Karl Rove voodoo doll? :)
