The Jeff Gannon/James Guckert scandal may once again rear its salacious head with startling new allegations about the male-escort-turned-reporter and his extraordinary access to roam the White House during George Bush's tenure.

Several investigative sources (including Raw Story and Democratic Underground) report that documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) and Rep. Louise slaughter (D-NY) reveal that Gannon/Guckert had remarkably frequent and easy access to the White House.

Gannon/Guckert made more than 200 appearances at the Bush White House while representing a fledgling right-wing news organization, attending 155 of 196 White House briefings, despite having no previous journalistic experience. But those aren't the eye-brow raising allegations highlighted by Secret Service documents.

Reports are that this male escort with the steamy photos made more than 35 trips to the White House on days when there were no press briefings. On at least 14 occasions, Secret Service records show that either the entry or exit time for Gannon/Guckert is missing. Per the Secret Service, this would be an unusual and very serious security breach in post 9/11 times.

And even more curiously, Gannon/Guckert sometimes stayed in the White House for extended periods of up to 6 hours before and after press conferences. And, of course, that's for days when both entrance and exit times are recorded. Washington imaginations are running wild about Gannon/Guckert time spent in the White House when time spans are unknown.

And this tidbit captures my attention.....he generally used the name James Guckert to enter and leave the White House, but used the name Jeff Gannon as a reporter at White House press briefings.
