The Democratic Race for the '08 Nomination is So Over!
This race is so over.
Hillary says she would've have left Obama's pastor for his decades-old anachronisms from the pulpit, but she wouldn't leave Bill for his decades of apparent cheating on her? Or after he dallied in the Oval Office with Monica, then lied to Hillary about it?
Hillary says she dodged bullets on the tarmac at Bosnia, but the news footage shows a neatly-coiffed Hillary and grinning Chelsea leisurely greeting dignitaries and a young girl?
Hillary, who voted for the Iraq War, accuses Barack, who has publicly opposed the Iraq War since 2002, of "of not starting to end the war until he began his race for the White House"?
A Democratic party official tells ABC News that the Clinton campaign strategy to kneecap Obama is "The Tonya Harding Option"?
On MSNBC's Hardball two days ago, correspondent and obvious Hillary-supporter Norah O'Donnell admits that the Clintons would rather see Republican McCain win than Democrat Obama in 2008, because it would give Hillary a stronger chance to run again in 2012?
David Brooks wrote this week at the New York Times:
"For three more months, Clinton is likely to hurt Obama even more against McCain, without hurting him against herself. And all this is happening so she can preserve that 5 percent chance (of winning)."When you step back and think about it, she is amazing. She possesses the audacity of hopelessness. Why does she go on like this?... Is she simply selfish, and willing to put her party through agony for the sake of her slender chance?"
And Maureen Dowd writes today in the New York Times:
"Some top Democrats are increasingly worried that the Clintons’ divide-and-conquer strategy is nihilistic: Hillary or no democrat. After all, the Clintons think of themselves as The Democratic Party..."And even Clinton supporters know that Bill does not want to be replaced as the first black president, especially by a black president with enough magic to possibly eclipse him in the history books."
How could anyone seriously believe that, after the brutal and dishonest behavior of the Clintons since Super Tuesday, February 5th, that the American people, exhausted by the brutal and dishonest Bush administration, would lift Hillary and Bill Clinton up to electoral victory and return them to four more years in the White House? How could anyone seriously believe that Obama supporters would now vote for Hillary Clinton in 2008 (or possibly ever)?
Such fantasies defy good common sense and all rules of logic.
Yeah, this race is so over. The only remaining question is... what Democrat possesses the backbone and requisite muscle to tell the Clintons that it's over, and to enforce it?

Maybe Jason will get his degree on his own. You have a lot of guts calling people on hypocrisy.
I wish the party or supers would just go ahead and call it for Obama and finish this.
April Ryan of NPR on Hardball today said that the Clinton camp knows they cannot win this and get the nomination.
It’s obvious she is staying in only to destroy Obama to make him unelectable and take the party down with her.
Deborah:
I linked to this both on my personal blog and on The Moderate Voice.
I don’t think that Senator Clinton wants to destroy Obama. I feel that she simply cannot accept what is to her unfathomable: losing.

BRAVO!!
Well-spoken, Deborah!
