Spouses of the 2008 Democratic Presidential Candidates
From Michelle Obama to Elizabeth Edwards to Bill Clinton, I can't recall a Democratic race for the presidential nomination in which the candidates' spouses played a more significant... or newsworthy... role in the campaign.
And I certainly can't remember when the top candidates' spouses were more accomplished and intriguing in their own right.
To fully understand the politics of the 2008 Democratic race for the White House, one must understand both the candidates and their spouses, who all serve as vital consultants and spokespersons for their respective family campaigns. As Sly Stone sang in 1971, "It's a family affair..."
For your info, I've written candid profiles of the spouses of the four top 2008 Democratic candidates for the presidency, and described their roles, thusfar, in the campaigns:
- Bill Clinton, Married to Hillary Clinton, Democratic 2008 Candidate
- Michelle Obama, Married to Barack Obama, Democratic 2008 Candidate
- Elizabeth Edwards, Married to John Edwards, Democratic 2008 Candidate
- Barbara Richardson, Married to Bill Richardson, Democratic 2008 Candidate
Enjoy!
