New Inside Profile of Mark Warner, '08 Democratic Hopeful
Very little, if you're like most liberals. You probably know his face, and perhaps you've heard that he spun a fortune from nothing in early cell phone licenses. Many in the liberal blogosphere have read of the lavish Las Vegas party he threw for DailyKos'ers in June 2006.
But what of Mark Warner, political leader, and Mark Warner, the person? What do you or anyone else actually know about this engaging, low-key but brilliantly-seasoned politico?
I've done my homework on Mark Warner, and yours, too, and just put the finishing touches on Inside Profile of Mark Warner, '08 Presidential Democratic Hopeful. And I uncovered lots of interesting details.
Born into a staunch Republican family, the gifted Warner's intriguing tale started when he fell happily into politics in high school when elected class president three consecutive years.
He was extraordinarily successful as Governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006, and proved his mettle both in prudent fiscal management and in bridging the bipartisan gap in Red State Virginia... two qualities sorely lacking in DC these days.
Despite his lack of foreign affairs credentials, Warner may be the right man for this time. And to be honest, he reminds me of our last two presidents for one glaring reason...

Russ Feingold has consistently stood up against Bush. We probably need to find a Southern Democrat Governor (Warner of VA maybe) who doesn’t have a voting record on national affairs. I think Hillary will win both the nomination and the presidency. She’ll be much better than W, but will be constantly defending herself against one accusation after an other.
