Iraq War Statistics: Shocking Iraqi "Brain Drain"

Thursday July 27, 2006
By all accounts, Iraqi civilians have been killed this summer at the rate of 100 per day, which is a new high for the deadly Iraq War.

And another new Iraq War statistic that reflects the devastation borne by that country: since the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, fully 40% of Iraqi professionals (doctors, attorneys, accountants, professors, teachers, others) have permanently left their home country. Of course, such a devastating "brain drain" inevitably makes Iraq's recovery more difficult and remote.

I updated Iraq War Results & Statistics for the past 18 days, through July 24, 2006. In that brief span, 145 Iraqi police and troops were killed, as well as 20 US soldiers and 6 more journalists. And there's much more...

Yet, "insurgent" and "death squad" attacks continue to increase, as the US grows ever-more impotent in its directionless mission in Iraq. To quickly keep abreast of the latest in Iraq, read Iraq War Results & Statistics as of July 24, 2006.

But…isn’t Freedom on the March? Isn’t it grand, though? Smell the freedom? Smell it? Mmmmmm. War Crimes in the morning.
