Here you'll find practical ways to make a difference in our great democracy and to make your voice heard.....through direct links to organizations and candidates, news, "how to" articles, book and film picks, and much more.

Work for your favorite candidate. End discrimination based on disabilities, race, religion, sexual orientation, age and much more. Volunteer to end illiteracy and support public libraries. Fight to save our environment, educate the public on conservation and recycling, and protect our national parks. End hunger by working at a food bank. Solve homelessness by joining home-building projects.

Start by signing up for email newsletters and reading about various organizations, campaigns and candidates. Write letters to your elected representatives. Speak out on the issues to your family and friends. And of course, vote. There are thousands of ways to be part of the solution.

Don't just sit passively by and watch errant political officials lead our country in the wrong direction. Don't wallow in frustration and anger when you can change the course of your most fervent causes. Together, we can appeal to voters, solve problems, affect public policy and change the minds of politicians.

In the grand tradition of our country's founders, we can change our world rather than accept status quo. We, the people, are the United States of America, and we can stand up and change the course of human events.
