Amid Disastrous Approval Ratings, Bush Admits Fatal Federal Errors
Bush added, "To the extent the federal government didn't fully do its job right, I take responsibility."
Ok....we know that. It's fact. A very obvious fact. Mr. President....finish the sentence. And what's next? How will this tragically broken system, one grotesquely weakened by your own budget cuts, be fixed? What's your plan to protect the American people?
I visited half a dozen leading liberal blogs to see which direction the political winds are blowing, based on the President's statements today. Nary a word on the subject. This is a non-story. No one in the liberal blogopshere cares any longer what the President says on this subject. He has no credibility.
So I visited three leading conservative blogs....Hugh Hewitt, Michelle Malkin and LaShawn Barber. As of 3:30 PM EST, Hewitt and Malkin are eerily silent on the subject. Not one mention of the President's admission of fatal error.
But Barber vents her fury by writing, "Your problem, Mr. Bush, is that you’ve failed to harness the power of a conservative government, squandering precious time and resources. Under your reign, the government has grown to ridiculous proportions, more than Ted Kennedy ever dreamed would be possible. And the war on terror started with a bang, but limps along with a whimper. "
Couldn't have said it better myself.
