Senator Clinton Campaign Banks $6 Million, Thanks Supporters in Video

Friday July 22, 2005
Campaign reports filed earlier this week with the Federal Election Commission showed that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) had an astounding $12.6 million in cash on hand at the end of June, and that she raised $6 million between April and June....all for her 2006 reelection bid with no clear opponent, to date.

Yet she keeps reaching out with very effective ads to build her campaign chest and with good reason. In Senator Clinton's first bid in 2000, she and her opponent together spent about $80 million on their campaigns.

Yesterday, I received a letter from her campaign, along with an exceptionally effective video in which she...well, why I don't just show you?

"I am so pleased to be able to send you this personal video from Hillary with two important messages. First and foremost, the video conveys Senator Clinton's personal thanks for your support in helping get our 2006 efforts off to such a strong start. As you may know, the most recent campaign filing demonstrated the breadth and depth of our campaign. Senator Clinton's message also includes a comment on the nomination by President Bush of Judge John Roberts to the Supreme Court.

Watch the "Hillary Clinton Thank You" video

As Hillary says in her video, the next Supreme Court Justice will make decisions that determine the kind of country we live in for years to come. I hope you will listen to her statement and go to our website www.hillaryclinton.com to hear her conversation with Congressman John Lewis about what's at stake with the Court."

Pretty cool, huh? We usually only see campaigns of such quality in presidential elections....never 19 months in advance for for Senate elections.

No wonder many believe Hillary's the Democrat to beat for the 2008 presidential nomination.: she's the hungriest go-getter with the biggest campaign chest.
