Changing John Lennon's Words About Giving Peace a Chance

From one of my favorite liberal blogs, Grouchy's Liberaltopia, comes this disturbing quote from an unlikely source....

Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.

But think about it......would Bush and Cheney have the US in Iraq if the oil and gas industry, if Halliburton and friends, couldn't make big money from it? If you have any doubts about the present US profit motive in war, take a gander at War Profiteers website.

Maybe when John Lennon sang "Give peace a chance," what he should've warbled was "Give non-profit war a chance to make lasting peace. "
